Description Ivan Diorditsa 2009-04-14 01:46:32 UTC
After upgrade from dev-libs/icu-3.8.1-r1 to 4.0.1, openoffice fails to start throwing out the following error message:
/usr/lib64/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.38: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I work around this by downgrading icu (maybe OOo reinstall helps too: I ran it and now am waiting until it's finished to check).

Shouldn't there be at least some ewarn when upgrading?

You should run `revdep-rebuild`.
If you don't have this command, install app-portage/gentoolkit.
