Description Josh Sled 2009-04-12 20:45:03 UTC
After emerging app-shells/gentoo-bashcomp-20090222, I get:

ERROR: ld.so: object '/lib/libsandbox.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

phoenix ~ # emerge --info sandbox
 * Overlay eclasses override eclasses from PORTDIR:
 *
 *   '/usr/portage/local/layman/emacs/eclass/elisp.eclass'
 *   '/usr/portage/local/layman/emacs/eclass/elisp-common.eclass'
 *
 * It is best to avoid overriding eclasses from PORTDIR because it will
 * trigger invalidation of cached ebuild metadata that is distributed with
 * the portage tree. If you must override eclasses from PORTDIR then you
 * are advised to add FEATURES="metadata-transfer" to /etc/make.conf and to
 * run `emerge --regen` after each time that you run `emerge --sync`. Set
 * PORTAGE_ECLASS_WARNING_ENABLE="0" in /etc/make.conf if you would like to
 * disable this warning.

sys-apps/sandbox-1.2.18.1-r2 was built with the following:
LDFLAGS=""

>>> Attempting to run pkg_info() for 'sys-apps/sandbox-1.2.18.1-r2'
 * pkg_info() is not defined: 'sandbox-1.2.18.1-r2.ebuild'

Though I'm not sure if it is related, I will note that I had earlier installed sys-libs/glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2

Does this fix it:
FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge -1 sandbox
?

Unfortunately, I can't seem to reproduce the original problem re-emerging gentoo-bashcomp, so I can't test. :( If I can provoke the problem again, I'll give it a go.
Comment 3 yegle 2009-08-21 16:03:30 UTC
I encountered this problem after emerging these packages:
[I] dev-lang/icc (11.1.046-r1@2009年08月21日): Intel C/C++ optimized compiler for Linux
[I] media-libs/freeglut (2.6.0_rc1@2009年08月21日): A completely OpenSourced alternative to the OpenGL Utility Toolkit (GLUT) library
[I] media-libs/mediastreamer (2.2.4@2009年08月21日): Mediastreaming library for telephony application
[I] net-libs/ortp (0.16.0@2009年08月21日): Open Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP, RFC3550) stack
[I] net-voip/linphone (3.1.2@2009年08月21日): Video softphone based on the SIP protocol
[I] sys-apps/coreutils (7.5@2009年08月21日): Standard GNU file utilities (chmod, cp, dd, dir, ls...), text utilities (sort, tr, head, wc..), and shell utilities (whoami, who,...)

$ sudo su -
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libsandbox.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored

I think this is related to coreutils, and I think this bug should be reopened.

Comment 5 yegle 2009-08-21 17:10:45 UTC
Damn...I found the reason
icc added a file in /etc/env.d/ and exported LD_RUN_PATH and LD_PRELOAD, I don't know why. After remove icc everything is fine now.

Comment 6 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-22 07:10:08 UTC
It doesn't work for you. So leave the bug open.
Assigning to maintainer.
Comment 7 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-22 07:11:49 UTC
I have the same issue since icc-11.1.046-r1.
Comment 8 Josh Sled 2009-08-22 17:03:48 UTC
I can't seem to recall the environment in which I was experiencing this, but I've never had icc installed, and nothing in /etc/env.d/ contains the string "LD_".
Comment 9 Andrey Kislyuk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-23 21:38:06 UTC
The issue with the icc-11.1 ebuild is my fault for incorrectly sourcing an in-build environment. It's unrelated to any previous issues. I've fixed it in revision -r2 of that ebuild.

Since this is not an icc-related issue, I'm un-assigning myself and restoring the subject. Feel free to take it up with coreutils or sandbox if you think this is a bug.
Comment 10 Peter Alfredsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-09-07 22:02:43 UTC
Re-open if you can reproduce the original problem.
