Description alexplay03 2009-04-06 21:14:16 UTC
Using x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.2.0, breaks DGA input for games that use it, for example games-fps/enemy-territory, etc. Downgrading to x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3 solves the problem and DGA can be used again without any problems.

Although disabling the DGA extension in xorg.conf 'partially' solves the problem, the mouse behaviour is not the expected (slow mouse movements are barely detected), regardless the xf86-input-evdev version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use HAL input + xf86-input-evdev-2.2.0 drivers
2.Run games-fps/enemy-territory-2.60b
3.Enable in-game DGA input with: /in_dgamouse 1 or /in_dgamouse 2.

Actual Results:
In the game menu, the mouse moves erratically and goes to the bottom right.
Playing the game the same result.
Sometimes it doesn't even respond.

Expected Results:
The mouse should have moved normally without any problems as seen with x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3 drivers.

Well, it been reported upstream,
though there's little activity there.
Comment 2 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-07 19:49:32 UTC
How about RESOLVED UPSTREAM then?

There's little activity because upstream has requested information from people who actually _have_ the bug. No one has answered yet...

In any case, this bug is a dupe.
