Description Permjacov E. A. 2009-03-04 09:10:15 UTC
libjit-0.0.6 and 0.1.0 fails to compile

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
emerge libjit

Actual Results:
fresh-compiled helper tool crush (gen-apply)

the problem looks common:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/dotgnu-libjit/2008-11/msg00001.html
eraising CFLAGS from make.conf did not help.
forsing -O0 to tool/Makefile.in COMPILE command should work. At least it worked when I tried to compile libjit without portage.

Portage 2.2_rc23 (default/linux/x86/2008.0, gcc-4.3.3, glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2, 2.6.22.18-co-0.7.3 i686)

Comment 3 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) gentoo-dev 2009-03-05 18:47:24 UTC
from the build.log:

./gen-apply >../jit/jit-apply-rules.h
/bin/sh: line 1: 10318 Segmentation fault ./gen-apply > ../jit/jit-apply-rules.h

Reassigning to dotnet herd.
Comment 4 Peter Alfredsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-03-05 19:20:55 UTC
Could you try with -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE in CFLAGS and see if that helps?
Comment 5 Permjacov E. A. 2009-03-06 11:11:26 UTC
(In reply to comment #4)
> Could you try with -U_FORTIFY_SOURCE in CFLAGS and see if that helps?

It did not.
However "Compiling gen-apply with -O0 made it work on x86."

Comment 6 Permjacov E. A. 2009-03-06 18:55:28 UTC
I tried to compile with gcc-4.2.4 , 4.1.2 and 3.4.6. All of them worked fine. Is gcc-4.3.3 broken somehow?
