After updating to xorg-1.5.3 I see all text on the desktop (KDE-3.5.9), in KDM and on some websites (seamonkey) corrupted. (In reply to comment #0) > VIDEO_CARDS="nv nvidia" Which of these drivers do you use, and which version is that? Compare bug #256586 comment #1.)
I'm using the nvidia driver and the other bug looks exactly like my problem. Will be able to test it tomorrow.
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 256586 ***
It is not a duplicate. The other bug is about a version bump and this one is about font corruptions fixed in an unstable version of nvidia-drivers.
Maybe it's time to stabilise - it's been a month.
Ok, sorry for closing this bug. The new driver solves the old problem, however, I already noticed a new issue (so far only in seamonkey): -writing mails or just text like this one here makes the whole line randomly disappear and reappear as I type. -rendering issues on websites: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/ is displayed incorrectly. The text under the "Project" and "Description" column is not drendered at all. This is probably the easiest way to reproduce the issue.
(In reply to comment #7) > Ok, sorry for closing this bug. The new driver solves the old problem, however, > I already noticed a new issue (so far only in seamonkey): That's two new issues, and they don't really relate to this bug report at all, so they shouldn't even be mentioned here.
Created attachment 187269 [details] Fonts and tint panel corruption
I am also having this issues after upgrade to xorg-1.5.3 (intel video driver 2.6.1). Additionally some windows taking background for self visualization are also garbled (see tint panel on screenshot at the bottom, it should have clean grey color mixed with background but it has also red horizontal stripes appeared on the 2nd hour). The amount of font and displaying artifacts are increasing with time xorg is working. I have attached sreenshot and files with information: denis-emerge.info denis-font-issues-1.5.3-screenshot.png denis-lspci.info

Closing old bugs, this should work now.
