what about `FEATURES=-sandbox emerge coreutils` ?

the emerge error is unrelated. run `rm -rf` manually to workaround it.

yes I run 'rm -rf /var/tmp/portage' after each first try

run
'FEATURES=-sandbox emerge -v -1 coreutils'
did not help me too :(
(but disappear error about '../confdir3/..')

well rm'ing /var/temp/portage/* solved the confdir3 b0rk but the nanosleep check still just hangs indefinitely. this is on ~x86
Comment 8 Ivan c00kiemon5ter Kanakarakis 2009-03-03 02:46:27 UTC
Solution Found !

nvidia-drivers-180.35 is causing the fuzz.
dowgrading to 180.29, compiled fine :-)

Big thnx to the #gentoo guys on &freenode

nvidia-drivers-180.35 caused a lot more problems, like ctrl+c and ctrl+d not work properly (on Gnome at least). Maybe the driver should be masked..(?)

-------

For those using a ~ nvidia driver :
echo "=x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-180.35" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
emerge nvidia-drivers #(or -uav world ...)

let the nvidia guys sort it out then ...

thanks for the tip... downgrading nvidia-drivers worked here too

Dup of bug #260441. I guess a blocked SIGALRM might be the cause for nanosleep.
