Get this when trying to use 1.5.2: xsnap error : impossible to load font -bitstream-bitstream vera sans-medium-r-normal-*-*-100-*-*-p-*-iso8859-* Reproducible: Always Note....... this error message can also occur if your xorg.conf file has failed to identify the ttf font files. Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log to assure that the ttf* file is properly loaded. e.g.: (**) FontPath set to: /usr/share/fonts/misc/, /usr/share/fonts/corefonts/, /usr/share/fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera/, /usr/share/fonts/Type1/, /usr/share/fonts/100dpi/, /usr/share/fonts/75dpi/ This error on 64bit hardened is something different, though it has the same symptoms.
Each ebuild appears to compile fine.
Does it work correctly with media-fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera installed and configure in xorg.conf ?
1.4.4 works fine with correct fonts and xorg.conf; 1.5.2 does not.
I have a similar problem: Xsnap, version 1.5.5 xsnap error : impossible to load font 7x13
I also installed : Xsnap version 1.5.2 xsnap error : impossible to load font -bitstream-bitstream vera sans-medium-r-normal-*-*-100-*-*-p-*-iso8859-*
I'm not sure what fonts 1.5.2 needs, but I've fixed deps for 1.5.6 and will be requesting it stable now. + 06 Jun 2010; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> xsnap-1.5.6.ebuild: + Missing media-fonts/font-misc-misc RDEPEND for default 7x13 font wrt + #259616. ^ After installing font-misc-misc to get 7x13 font, it needs a X.org restart.
