After installing the new nvidia-drivers my system hardly restarts (reset) every time X is starting. see the console with the booting stuff and see the "starting xdm" line. X-server want's to increase the resolution of my displays and the displays went black and go to standby and never coming back. some seconds after that the whole system restarts (with a hard reset) maybe the reset comes after a key press (wanna switch to console with ctrl+alt+F1 when the restart appears) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start xdm (X-Server) Actual Results: the whole system restarts with a hard reset (no shutdown -> reboot!) when i downgrade to nvidia-drivers-180.22 the complete system workes fine again.
Please consider using the bug reporting template. Without emerge --info and more information about your graphics card and system (lspci -v output would really help for example), the driver maintainer will not be able to help you. Do feel free to reopen the bug once you have added more information to your report.
