Looks to me like this should be added as dependency to dev-texlive/texlive-texinfo, since texinfo.tex inputs epsf.tex. @TeX team (aballier): Can you comment on this?

@emacs: I get the following warning during the compile phase: "grep: slime.info: No such file or directory". doc/Makefile:71 seems to be the culprit. Don't know if it's Debian specific. Nevertheless, the info file gets installed and works, thus sparc stable.
It's harmless because we don't use the "install-info" target to install info files, but doinfo.
