During install of libxcb-1.1 on one machine, the following occurs, repeatably:

cp -pR ./tutorial '/var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libxcb-1.1/image//usr/share/doc/libxcb/'

>>> Failed to emerge x11-libs/libxcb-1.1

No core dump is found. Seeing that it was reported as a segfault, I rebuilt the whole toolchain and coreutils -- this makes no difference, and the same error is reported at the same place.

Looks like a hardened problem...

It's possible, although this system doesn't run hardened gentoo, and the same thing happens when running selinux in permissive mode.
Comment 4 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-28 19:31:23 UTC
Hardened team, any input on whether this could be related to SELinux? I can't reproduce it on my standard ~amd64 system, and that's all I've got to test.

this is an old bug, but x11-libs/libxcb-1.1.90.1 worked ok for me.
