Description Leeman Strout 2009-01-23 17:29:23 UTC
xwindows file managers are not liking fusesmb mounts, they refuse to "browse" into them.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. fusesmb /home/usr/mountpoint
2. view mount point with either Thunar or pcmanfm
3. ???
4. profit!!

Actual Results:
It works great at the commandline, I can cd in, manipulate files and all that...

I start Thunar (or pcmanfm) and I can see the Network folder. I open the network folder and for an instant see the contents (the HOME workgroup) and then Thunar pops back to my home directory and the Network folder has disappeared.

If I explicitly use the path bar to type in a valid workgroup/server/share/subfolder (as deep as I want to go) then I see the contents of that folder very briefly and then one level at a time Thunar backs up 1 level, briefly shows the contents at that level and continues to back all the way out 1 level at a time.

Expected Results:
Browse the fusesmb mount just like any other mounted filesystem.

Comment 1 Leeman Strout 2009-01-23 17:46:28 UTC
using audacious I can browse into the fusesmb mount and play music stored on a server running Samba.
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-24 02:39:37 UTC
How (with what flags) is that SMB share mounted?
Comment 3 Leeman Strout 2009-01-24 02:51:16 UTC
my ~/.smb/fusesmb.conf has this:

[global]
showhiddenshare=true
timeout = 10
interval = 10

[/server]
username=correct user
password=correct password

then fusesmb is executed plain vanilla against a directory:

fusesmb /home/user/Network

No flags, no mount options.
