Comment 1 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-19 07:53:36 UTC
Oops that does look like a bug in the ebuild; it shouldn't be messing with the real /usr/share/doc rather than the temporary location ${D}/usr/share/doc

Thanks for the report, assigning to maintainers.
Comment 2 Christopher J. Camisa 2009-03-05 00:38:28 UTC

Uses ${D}/usr/share/doc as Wormo suggested.

Copy this ebuild into /usr/local/portage/sys-libs/freeipmi and then also copy freeipmi-0.6.10+glibc-2.8.patch from /usr/portage/sys-libs/freeipmi/files into /usr/local/portage/sys-libs/freeipmi/files. Then 'ebuild /usr/local/portage/sys-libs/freeipmi/freeipmi-0.6.10-r1.ebuild digest' and then finally 'emerge freeipmi'. This updated ebuild worked for me.
Comment 3 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-01 11:21:03 UTC
This was fixed long time in the tree:

*freeipmi-0.7.13 (01 Oct 2009)

  01 Oct 2009; Diego E. Pettenò <flameeyes@gentoo.org>
  freeipmi-0.6.10.ebuild, +freeipmi-0.7.13.ebuild:
Version bump, fix 0.6.10 for the wrong rm as well.

Any way thank you for report Balazs and Christopher for the fix.
