dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8j is what I have installed. Tried with MAKEOPTS="-j1", same problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge ruby
2. fails
3.

Actual Results:
Emerge ruby fails.

Expected Results:
Shouldn't fail.
