Description Derek Dolney 2009-01-09 03:43:59 UTC
Somewhere in the configure of sandbox-1.3 versions (maybe older ones, too), I get this segfault message in my syslog reproducibly:

ld[15231]: segfault at 0 ip 0000003335c7e175 sp 00007fffe932d478 error 4 in libc-2.9.so[3335c00000+14b000]

In build-x86/config.log, I get:

configure:6666: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o conftest -march=native -O2 -pipe -Wl,-O1 conftest.c conftstm.o >&5
collect2: ld terminated with signal 11 [Segmentation fault]
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.3.2/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: i386:x86-64 architecture of input file `conftstm.o' is incompatible with i386 output

Should this really fail this way? Seems a little extreme to me.

Portage 2.2_rc20 (default/linux/amd64/2008.0, gcc-4.3.2, glibc-2.9_p20081201-r1, 2.6.27-thinkpad-r3 x86_64)

build sandbox with ccache disabled: FEATURES=-ccache emerge sandbox
Comment 2 Derek Dolney 2009-01-09 16:16:02 UTC
configure does not segfault with ccache disabled.

What is happening when ccache is enabled? Please explain!
Comment 3 Derek Dolney 2009-01-09 17:29:49 UTC
I found the discussion and solution myself, thanks.
