Hi, There is a new release of the ACML library. I have just renamed the previous ebuild to acml-4.2.0.ebuild and emerged the new package. The only problem I observed during emerge was: >>> Install acml-4.2.0 into /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/ category sci-libs >>> Completed installing acml-4.2.0 into /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/ scanelf: Sorry, long names not yet supported; output will be incomplete for /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/opt/acml4.2.0/gfortran64_mp/lib/libacml_mv.a scanelf: Sorry, long names not yet supported; output will be incomplete for /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/opt/acml4.2.0/gfortran64_mp/lib/libacml_mp.a scanelf: Sorry, long names not yet supported; output will be incomplete for /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/opt/acml4.2.0/gfortran64/lib/libacml_mv.a scanelf: Sorry, long names not yet supported; output will be incomplete for /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/acml-4.2.0/image/opt/acml4.2.0/gfortran64/lib/libacml.a Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix/workaround it. Despite of this problem, I was able to link the IT++ library and test it briefly with the ACML library on my x86_64 (64-bit) Gentoo system. BR, /Adam
Created attachment 189986 [details] sci-libs/acml-4.2.0.ebuild The ebuild for acml-4.2.0, which is based on sci-libs/acml-4.1.0-r1.ebuild. The main change is its dependency on gcc-4.3 instead of gcc-4.2.
Created attachment 189987 [details] Manifest for files used by acml-4.2.0 As acml is fetch-restricted, here you are the Manifest, so you don't need to download the whole set of acml archives for all the variants if you only want to use it in your computer.
Created attachment 212765 [details] Manifest for files used by acml-4.3.0 As noted above, acml is fetch-restricted. Here is the Manifest so you don't need to download the whole set of acml archives for all the variants if you only want to use it in your computer. Just rename the ebuild to acml-4.3.0.ebuild.
Any chance we can get some movement here? Right now, the latest ACML in the tree doesn't work with the latest stable GCC. It's an utter pain to keep gcc-4.1.2 around just so I can install ACML (keeping in mind that I can compile C code and link it to ACML just fine using 4.3.4)
version 4.4.0 is availible
So, yes acml-4.4.0 is available and there is also a pkg called acml-gpu for running computes on the ATI GPU easily. Perhaps we can get some testers for both packages.
Hi. What's the status of this bug? Will there be a new version? None of the versions available in the main portage tree are offered on AMD's archived download page anymore. This is a bit of a problem since the package is fetch restricted.
Try to use version 5.3.1 from the science overlay.

http://developer.amd.com/community/blog/2014/11/17/acml-6-1-accelerates-code/ There's version 6.1.0, now.
Software I'd like to use needs exactly 6.0.6 version, as there are problems in 6.1 in it. Could you please add 6.0.6 into tree along with 6.1?
I cannot find 6.0.6 on the download page and for 6.1.0.31 there are only a subset of the packages available which we need for the ebuild.
