Same story as in that recently closed bug about gedit: gnutls is shipped with libtool 2, on a libtool 1 system eautoreconf updates ltmain.sh, but not the macros. This results in a failure. Deleting those macros before eautoreconf should fix it.
Rafal: it sounds like a good theory because Lars does have 1.5 libtool, but take a close look at the gnutls-2.6.2 ebuild -- it already deletes those macro files that were causing the gedit bug. So, there is something else going on here... possibly caused by the new 2.63 autoconf.
I doubt its libtool as it fails with versions 1.5.26 and 2.2.4. looks like the gnutls-2.6.0-cxx-configure.in.patch patch i did was a bit deficient (now included in gnutls-2.7.3). to be successful i imagine the lib/configure.ac should define the am__fastdepCXX_{FALSE/TRUE} macros somehow. gnutls-2.7.3 $ fgrep -r am__fastdepCXX config.log lib/config.log config.log:am__fastdepCXX_FALSE='#' config.log:am__fastdepCXX_TRUE='' lib/config.log:configure:35169: error: conditional "am__fastdepCXX" was never defined. lib/config.log:am__fastdepCXX_FALSE='' lib/config.log:am__fastdepCXX_TRUE='' suggestions welcome - i'm still struggling.
