So, what is the best action? To try to convince ircii people to install a binary named ircii instead of `irc'? To be ridiculously complicated and install an irc-client eselect module to choose between the two :-p? I have just committed changes making the packages block eachother. If something additional should be done, please reopen this bug. On the other hand, irc-client seems to have moved its internet presence and I don't know where to. Maybe that package should be eventually cleaned...
Something went very wrong here. ircii-20111115 has: # This and irc-client both install /usr/bin/irc #247987 RDEPEND="${DEPEND} !!net-irc/irc-client" irc-client-2.10.3_p7 has: # This and irc-client both install /usr/bin/irc #247987 RDEPEND="${DEPEND} !net-irc/irc-client" Unless there'a reason to forcedly uninstall irc-client before building ircii (rather than uninstall it before *installing* it), this should be weak '!' blocker. And I'm pretty sure the second snippet should have s/irc-client/ircii/ ;-P.
