Description Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-21 05:57:26 UTC
New wireshark release, new security issues were fixed:

New version is in the tree, but I'm not sure if we should start stabilization immediately.

Security team, please, advice. Looking at advisory seems that wireshark team considers all crashes like vulnerabilities. Should we follow that? I have no problems with stabilizing it immediately, btw.
Comment 1 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-21 12:14:58 UTC
As we know, the security team is rather busy at the present time. Let's leave the GLSA vote to them, but get the stabilisation effort underway now. There are 4 individual DoS vulnerabilities described in the bug reports, and upstream recognises them as security vulnerabilities.

Target KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 sparc x86 ~x86-fbsd"
Arch teams, let's get this show on the road.
