When i run mozilla 1.3 or mozilla-firebird 0.6 outputs:
MozillaFirebird 
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /opt/netscape/plugins/npflash.so
[/opt/netscape/plugins/npflash.so: undefined symbol: __dso_handle]

/usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /opt/netscape/plugins/npflash.so

Have you recently upgraded any of your toolchain before compiling either mozilla or firebird? What is the output of emerge info?

i got the same behaviour with firebird 0.7:

what i did recently was replacing netscape-flash with gplflash as it was
required by some other package (dont remember which) - these packages block
one another...

i unmerge gplflash, emerged netscape flash and remerged firebird - this seems
to work now - i get a different error :)
