Description Daniel Beecham 2008-09-02 13:14:42 UTC
Using kernel 2.6.26-gentoo-r1, since this x11-driver is broken an 2.6.25.
Error starts at summary, rest is in attachments.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Probably hardware-dependant, but here is what i did;
1. Install gentoo
2. Install xorg-x11 (had a few problems with circular dependencies, but i resolved them by doing USE="-*" and VIDEO_CARDS="-*".
3. Install ati-drivers.

Seeing the same issue, attached my info. Perhaps this is unique to amd64?

Asking on the forum has returned advice that 8.471.3 doesn't build against kernel 2.6.26. ati-drivers-8.542 does however! I would recommend we give 8.542 some more testing, with the aim of marking it stable.

Old drivers are going to be removed.
Only supported will be 9.X series and newer.
If your card is not supported by them please switch to xf86-video-ati driver.
