I had installed with the 2008 minimal, downloaded the latest portage.
once in the new system I cannot emerge the portage and\or the bash shell because they conflict with another

The blocker should only be triggered if you try to mix stable and unstable bash and portage. Make sure you are using both stable or both unstable. If you still have trouble, please post the emerge output.

Since you haven't replied I'll assume that you've mixed stable and unstable.
