Description Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-27 05:16:41 UTC
net-nds/openldap-2.0.27-r4 specifies as dependency db-3. When db4 is installed
though it will use db4 instead, so either the dependency needs to be fixed, or
the configuration
Comment 1 Nick Hadaway 2003-07-08 18:34:47 UTC
we are currently only supporting db3 with openldap-2.0.*... if you are running a system with db4 (which is currently masked) then you should be utilizing the openldap-2.1.* series...

The dependancy in openldap-2.0.27-r4 is locked at db3*

from what i know of the openldap development... db4 support came into stability/maturity with the 2.1 series.

oops... didn't mean to resolve the bug...
Comment 3 Nick Hadaway 2003-07-09 00:38:47 UTC
and if you are runninng db4... make sure to be using db-4.1.x
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2003-07-09 13:17:35 UTC
There is a db3 patch included with -r4 which forces use of db3 and the DEPEND is locked at db3 so it "should" link correctly to db3.

It works for me indeed. I guess this can now be called "verified"

restoring old statuses.
