dev-util/poedit-1.2.1 has a disabled dependency on db and should be fixed. The configure script needs to be changed to detect db4 correctly.
yes, i'll fix that. again this was before db4 was versioned.
paul, do it need to work with db4 or can it still continue to use db3 ?
For me it does not need to build with db4, but then make sure that it does build with db3 in a mixed situation, and of course that the dependencies are right. Else you might want to look to some of the patches I did in for example apache-1.3.37-r? Basically it involves some simple changes to the CONFIGURE scripts
ok, will it be alright if i do change the dep to =sys-libs/db-3*? it works fine in a db3/db4 parallel installation, but does not if it is a db4 only installation.
For me it is, although at some point db4 support must be enabled.
i've just committed a fix for 1.2.1 with the =dev-db/db-3* solution. i have poedit-1.2.2 on the wings which i'll try and fix to be compat with db-4. but i'm holding off right now because of wxGTK problems.
poedit 1.2.2 is in portage now that supports db-4.
