It would be nice if equery would list the status of the installed ebuild as well as the current state pf that package within the portage tree. With such a feature an output like:

n22 ~ # equery l sys-kernel/vanilla-sources
[ Searching for package 'vanilla-sources' in 'sys-kernel' among: ]
 * installed packages
[I--] [ ~] sys-kernel/vanilla-sources-2.6.25.14 (2.6.25.14)

wouldn't confuse people who likes to stay at a stable kernel after they installed an unstable kernel some days before.
