I assume you did run python-updater before you emerged capisuite...

Yes, I did and it failed as well on the capisuite ebuild (see bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=232652).

To be able to move forward i manually re-emerge'd all other packages that python-updater wanted to rebuild (except capisuite).

Does that mean you WERE indeed "able to move forward"?

I was not. I ran python-updater ("emerge --resume --skipfirst"ing over capisuite) and revdep-revuild, and now capisuite is the only ebuild python-updater still wants to rebuild, but still no luck. Same error here.

Yes and No, I could rebuild everything except capisuit.

I had some time on my hands today and I found a patch on the net for capisuite with python 2.5. I'll upload it together with my -r5 ebuild.

Cool, thanks. Works perfectly for me.
Comment 9 Rafael Kolless 2008-09-13 11:00:12 UTC
Could this patch and the revision bump of the ebuild be uploaded to the portage tree. The incompatible ebuild is still stable.
Comment 10 Stefan Briesenick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-13 22:42:15 UTC
new revision in CVS.
