Hi,

Batik 1.7 has been released some time ago. Request version bump from 1.6 to 1.7, to solve the dependency on jdk-1.4. This antique dependency was solved in Batik 1.7beta1, as mentioned in the readme:

>  * Code now compiles under Java 1.5 and 1.6.

Also you can see that there have been tons of bugfixes since Batik 1.6, which too make it worthwile to version bump.

Finally: kind request to also change the dependency on jdk to "1.4 and above" instead of "1.4", so that it won't pull in jdk-1.4 on a system that already has jdk-1.5 and jdk-1.6 installed.
