I'm the fedora maintainer for the package suck. I have a look on gentoo linux and have to see, that the ebuild of suck doesn't contains IPV6 support. There is a patch which allows you to add IPv6 support to sueck. You may downloaded it from http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewcvs/*checkout*/devel/suck/suck-4.3.2-ipv6.patch?rev=1.1 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Try to connect a IPv6 newsserver Expected Results: Normal works.

As of 2012, the current version is still 4.3.2 and the patches here should still be viable. Does this need testing or something?
Is there an upstream for this package?
New upstream: https://github.com/lazarus-pkgs/suck This commit is based on the original IPv6 Patch by Thomas Rachel who sent it to various distributions: https://github.com/lazarus-pkgs/suck/commit/3013fa0c95aed84bd992c3ef2b6a3c41af292d62 https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/7185 is trying to update suck to the new 4.3.3 which contains IPv6 support.
