Although my Logitech mouse works under gdm, I read during boot the message that the device is unknown. The 2006.1 LiveCD however recognized that device correctly: Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c03d Logitech, Inc Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 8 idVendor 0x046d Logitech, Inc. idProduct 0xc03d bcdDevice 20.00 iManufacturer 1 Logitech iProduct 2 USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse iSerial 0 bNumConfigurations 1 Configuration Descriptor: Reproducible: Always
Is there actually a problem other than the name of the device not being read properly?
(In reply to comment #1) > Is there actually a problem other than the name of the device not being read > properly? > Oh no, currently it is a cosmetic problem (therefore I chosed the low severity) - however sometimes a harmless message indicates a much more underlaying problem, that's why I filed this bug.
No more livecds, so closing this bug. I wonder if this is still an issue with latest CDs / kernels.
