Description crusaderky 2008-07-02 19:39:08 UTC
It's already happened twice: I notice that, on my dual core amd64, I got 1 core at 0% usage and another one at 100%, 50% of which is used by /lib/ld-linux.so.2 and the other 50% by X.

I noticed that, both times, this happened when using mozilla-firefox-3.0-r1. It is highly likely that either nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5-r1, netscape-flash-9.0.124.0 or the acroread-8.1.2-r2 plugin for firefox are involved, as both times I was using them.

additional info:
- closing down firefox does not fix it
- after regularly closing firefox, killall -9 firefox returns no processes running
- PPID of ld-linux.so.2 is init (PID 1)
- I tried waiting for several minutes but it's still 100% CPU usage.

I'm using xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6. I haven't got any relevant portage overlays.

@mozilla team
Smells like a DUP of bug #211838.
