hmm, i have it here. $ qfile stc.h x11-libs/wxGTK (/usr/include/wx-2.6/wx/stc/stc.h) x11-libs/wxGTK (/usr/include/wx-2.8/wx/stc/stc.h) can you try rebuilding wxGTK?
Which useflags shall I use? stc is always built, no matter the USE flags.

Oh, and therefore a build.log of wxGTK itself would be useful. A contrib library maybe doesn't make the whole build fail if that component fails, but I think it did fail and it was just wxrc from utils/ that didn't fail before... anyhow, make.conf.example should show a variable that can be enabled temporarily with an appropriate value to save the whole log into /var/log/portage/elog/

i think i might have had stc disabled at some point back when 2.8 was in my overlay. maybe it was left over from then? anyways, happy to hear you got it working.
nm, i was thinking of STL. guess it'll just remain a mystery. ;)
