- [BUILD] fix build with gcc 4.3
    - [TESTS] add a debug patch to help trigger the stats bug
    - [BUG] Flush buffers also where there are exactly 0 bytes left
    - [DOC] update the README file with new build options
    - [MEDIUM] reduce risk of event starvation in ev_sepoll
