Description Daniel Albuschat 2003-06-08 03:23:10 UTC
Most of the time I do any emerge (including rsync), my console gets broken.
That means, the size is set to 80x25 character and the rest of the console won't
be used from any other application.
When using emerge in a xterm, resizing the term helps to repair the console.
But as I use emerge on the vc most of the time, it's broken forever.
Well, most of the time a 'reset' helps, but after awhile (really strange) this
wonn't help anymore.
$COLUMNS and $LINES is set to 80 and 25, respectively.
I have this problem now for around one or two month.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge <foo>

Actual Results:
only the upper left 80x25 pixel wide are of the terminal is used by any programs.
I even can't move the gpm cursor out of this "box"

I'm using a SMP machine with 2 cpu's. perhaps that is important in some way...

This bug seems the be caused by the NOCOLORS="yes" switch in the make.conf file.
