dd-rhelp is a useful script for recovering data from damaged hard drives. There is a 0.1.2 version available from http://www.kalysto.org/utilities/dd_rhelp/download/index.en.html , which improves log handling, removes ./configure need for the script, and fixes bug 159606 as well .
