sys-process/cronbase-0.3.2-r1 can not be emerged if sys-apps/shadow is not installed. The reason for the failure is that groupadd needs to be present before sys-process/cronbase-0.3.2-r1 can be installed and without sys-apps/shadow there is no groupadd binary.
