I was thinking that it would be nice to support torrents as a method for retrieving distfiles. This would reduce the bandwidth requirements on the distfiles servers as every gentoo user could then potentially become part of the swarm. Of course the existing servers would still support the current wget method(And would be required until bittorrent gets emerged), where possible these servers could be torrent servers too.
