I've read through the reports at the wavpack forums at: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showforum=68 and the mailing list at sourceforge. 4.42.0_alpha2 has been out since November 2nd of last year. The last reported bug was on the sourceforge mailing list and was solved in trunk. I attach here an ebuild and revision 135 of trunk at http://svn.slomosnail.de/wavpack/trunk/ An announcement for alpha2 can be seen here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=58716 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Does it fix the -flax workaround? Although I'd rather ask for a tarball to upstream, he's a nice guy, might provides us with an official one. I'd rather not do a prerelease just for Gentoo.
Nope, upstream has mentioned it on the -dev list, though. Upstream is apparently rather busy with work, which is the reason he's given for not releasing yet. If you'd like a fixed point release, you can just pull the 4.42.0_alpha2 tag off svn, though that's rather old.

final 4.50.0 in the tree now ;)
