I have the very same problem. In my case it's line 460 instead of 405 in /usr/include/GL/glxext.h, that's because I have a newer app-admin/eselect-opengl (1.0.6-r1) running. With 1.0.5 I get texactly the same error. Now how do we solve this? I also have a legacy nvidia card. The driver I use is nvidia's own x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-1.0.7185 I've also seen some other errors like this in connection with mythtv, but I haven't found any other reports openoffice. (In reply to comment #2)
Ok, then it's the old NVidia drivers I think. No idea what to do about this. At least OO compiles after "eselect opengl set xorg-x11". Compiling withoput the opengl use flag should also work, and opengl would not be missed anyway I guess.
Could you please try if you still get this with OOo 3.0?

As somebody who don't know how internally it works, I am confused reading other people's comment that this could be related to video card driver. What does it has to do with video card driver? I should be able to compile OOO even if there is no video driver installed (e.g. on a server. as example KnowledgeTree runs a copy of OOO without X) and if I have multiple video driver installed which would affect ooo compilation? But if it is related to the video: I also failed to compile with USE="opengl" (see Bug 246151 for detail of my case) but I have x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-6.6.3 installed. I did not install nvidia driver (I run it on ppc/iBook). I have Radeon Mobility 7500. Reason for using such old version of ATI driver: newer version cause my X11 session freeze (I tried all of them), thus I am waiting for 6.10 For your information I tried both mesa-6.5.2-r1 and mesa-7.0.3 and failed to compile ooo with both.

Hi. Last month I updated the world deeply with new USE and depcleaned the system. Yesterday I upgrade ooo to 3.0.1 with opengl USE flag. Result: the compile succeeded; I could not tell what version of what depended library caused openoffice to be able to compile, but it sure seems like some dependency is wrong. Gentoo QA team please decide if to ignore this problem (just ask everybody to update openoffice deeply) or keep this bug to find the real cause (could be difficult unless someone knows about the 3D library used by ooo)
I've got propbably related build problem: openoffice-3.0 complains about missing libGLU in its configure script. Unfortunately I've noticed this too late so I don't really know what I emerged ot updated last, so I have no clue what caused this.
For me the issue was resolved by re-emerging mesa. As it turned out, the libGLU is supplied by it regardlessly of the opengl implementation that is used.
