Please stabilize sci-electronics/oregano-0.60.0. It's now out for over a year and may considered stable. Although there is a but regarding 0.40.5, this bug seems at least to be fixed in 0.60.0. BTW: Maybe you could also add 0.69.0.
A couple of things about oregano. Gustavo Zacarias used to maintain it but he's retired now. I have never used it although I remember doing some minor fixes on it at some point. So I don't have much knowledge of it, and it's using scons to build which... err... I won't comment about. Right now oregano-0.60.0 doesn't build on my machine. Because of that I can't recommend it for stabilization. Also, when I quickly looked at the ebuild I saw that it's need of some fixes. I suggest we postpone this. I'll try and fix it ASAP but it's not at the top of my TODO list. Denis.

Right now, no version of oregano compiles. There is a patch to patch 0.40 compile in bug #193690. Why not just apply it and call it a day? I looked briefly at 0.69.0 and it looks like similiar issues to 0.60 as you say.
At least the 0.69.0 is compiling here (x86, amd64)
Tested on x86: No issues, current stable does not work. This should go x86 soon!
Compiles and works well here on stable amd64 chroot, but gives * QA Notice: Files built without respecting LDFLAGS have been detected * Please include the following list of files in your report: * /usr/bin/oregano

amd64/x86 stable, thanks Thomas (both of you)
