The first time I emerged baselayout, udev, & openrc my etc/conf.d/net disappeared.
When I ran dispatch-conf there were no messages re: etc/conf.d/net.
Very aggravating as I had no backup.
I thought CONFIG_PROTECT was supposed to prevent this sort of thing.
In subsequent upgrades and downgrades it didn't happen again.
Possibly something related to when net was last edited?
