Using dev-libs/xerces-c -icu in /etc/portage/packages.use and >=dev-libs/xerces-c-2.8.0 in /etc/portage/package.mask solved the problem for me
I am experiencing it too. dev-libs/xalan-c-1.10.0 depends on ~dev-libs/xerces-c-2.7.0 app-emulation/virtualbox-1.5.6 depends on: dev-libs/xalan-c dev-libs/xerces-c Can virtualbox just depend on xalan-c or is there a particular need to depend on both?
