Description Viktors 2008-04-14 08:41:55 UTC
Wanted to setup my wireless card "05:00.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 rev B 802.11g" but can not emerge any of it's drivers:

<... see link in atachment ...>

Somebody at forums told it's just happening with the new kernel.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
just try to emerge any of these ports
Actual Results:
ports not emerged

Expected Results:
i'd expect these ports to emerge

i tried different kernel configuration, none helped. i could compile kernel with rt61pci and related modules, but didn't know how to set them up for work, so i followed several howtos which suggested emerging one of above mentioned packages

CONFIRMED
(2.6.24-r4 sempron desktop rt2500 & rt61 chipset)

The support of rt2500 and rt61 is inserted into the kernel, and the emerge tree rt2500 and rt61 cannot be compiled :(
however: kernel side rt2500 and rt61 has a bug: cannot handle channels >=11 :( !
if you try to download the daily version of rt2500 and rt61 from serial monkey (http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) it will work.
