application is rosegarden-4, and the version is 0.9.

Not sure that i consider it a bug. After all, the major version of this release is 4...
thats similar to how we handle imagemagick in portage, they have a -<patchlevel>
attatched to their version number, so we change for example 5.5.7-4 to 220.127.116.11 in portage.
imo this is not a bug, it's just how portage works so i vote for closing WONTFIX
