Description Brian Dolbec (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-08 04:23:53 UTC
The installer did not give the option to configure grub for dual boot with M$. So on reboot to my new gentoo, there is no grub option to boot into M$ XP. I'll have to fix it manually before my wife finds out :(

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.run the gtk installer to completion
2.
3.

Actual Results:
only a gentoo option in grub

Expected Results:
should have had a option to set for dual/multiboot operation.

On detecting any M$ partitions that had not been eliminated by the time grub is to be configured. The installer should pause and allow for setting up dual/multiboot options before the reboot. If an install fails to reboot correctly there should be the option to restart with any of the other installed operating systems. Currently it leaves your system broken in that regards.

No it is a duplicate. That bug does not come up in the 2008_beta search as the version is not marked.
