Description Jason Buberel 2003-05-24 02:36:59 UTC
Was attempting to install the aegypten extensions to kmail according to the
instructions on this page:

http://www.niii.kun.nl/~pauldv/kmailgentoo.php

At 11:34pm PST on 2003-05-23, I did:

> emerge sync
> ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge newpg cryptplug pinentry

...several prerequisites installed fine, then is see this...

>>> emerge (4 of 7) app-crypt/newpg-0.9.4 to /
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/distfiles/newpg-0.9.4.tar.gz

Performing another emerge sync did not fix the problem.
Comment 1 Jason Buberel 2003-05-24 11:01:20 UTC
I have even run 'fixpackages' on the effected system, then resynced. The problem now
seems endemic: trying to install any package results in this error.
Comment 2 Jason Buberel 2003-05-24 11:07:35 UTC
This appears to be a problem with the oregon state mirror. Changing to Georgia Tech in
the make.conf file fixes the problem:

GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo"
