Description Edward "Hades" 2008-03-30 07:19:22 UTC
vmware-player-2.0.2.59824 crashes at startup with the following message:

symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libbonoboui-2.so.0: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_impl

I've traced the problem to gtk-engines-qt-0.8. When it's disabled with the following commands:

unset GTK_RC_FILES
unset GTK2_RC_FILES

vmplayer starts and runs fine.

Re-emerging libbonobo, libbonoboui and gtk-engines-qt did not solve the problem.

Use flags and versions:
[ebuild R ] gnome-base/libbonobo-2.20.4 USE="-debug -doc" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] x11-themes/gtk-engines-qt-0.8 USE="xinerama -debug" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] app-emulation/vmware-player-2.0.2.59824 0 kB
[ebuild R ] gnome-base/libbonoboui-2.20.0 USE="X -debug -doc" 0 kB

gtk-engines-qt-0.8 masked for removal with KDE3, won't be fixed...
