Description garfungiloops 2008-03-29 09:47:04 UTC
After starting the mc, the error:
mc: error while loading shared libraries: libslang-utf8.so.1: cannot open shared
before last update it was ok.
The use flag "unicode" is set.
However reemerging slang doesn't produce the file libslang-utf8.so.1
The version of slang =sys-libs/slang-2.1.3-r1

I have the same problem on 2 different systems x86 and amd64

Reproducible: Always

Bug (sort of) invalid.
As slang 2 hit stable, whatever libslang-utf8.so.1 was got wiped out.
Slang 2 supports utf8 natively.
You need revdep-rebuild for slang.
Comment 2 Jan Kundrát (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-05 00:43:46 UTC
Running revdep-rebuild is considered a good-practice after an upgrade. As we're a source-based distribution, we can't guarantee seemless upgrade path. Please run `revdep-rebuild` from the app-portage/gentoolkit package.

...and re-open for proper resolution, sorry for bugzilla noise.
