After the upgrade of gnutls (pulled in by portage update a few days ago), mutt refuses to start with this message: gnutls_global_init: The gcrypt library version is too old I am using mutt 1.5.16 and latest portage stable gcrypt and gnutls version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start mutt. 2. wait for the message to appear. 3. Actual Results: gnutls_global_init: The gcrypt library version is too old Expected Results: mutt should start like before. So, recompile it?
To clarify the report, start is not the right word. mutt starts, but everything which is related to ssl/tls does not work (with the message told) - so its broken because most of the accounts need tls. I recompiled all, result stay the same.
See bugs report 209984. Under X86 a new version of gnuls are unstable (probably). Put on your /etc/portage/package.mask -> ">=gnutls-2.2.2" emerge and revdep-rebuild
Why was is marked stable than ... i've recompiled more than 100 packages after merging this, that could not be an solution. Its marked stable than it should be stable, otherise it shouldn't have been marked stable in the official tree, shouldn't it?
Let's continue to discuss this on bug#209984. I cannot reproduce this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 209984 ***
