An podcatcher and broadcatcher for KDE. It lets you watch TV and listen to Radio shows from the net, for free. KatchTV is independent of channel and feed publishers, including Miro's channel guide, and others too. It includes Bittorrent support, and is capable of downloading large movies, in parallel, while you watch something else. Integrates with Konqueror and KDE media players. It would be nice that KDE people would have something like Miro on their platform. Current version is 0.91 (probably the last before 1.0). Dependancies: * Python * PyKDE * PyQt * a Kpart movie player (e.g Kaffeine, KMplayer, Mozplugger)
Soon as kde4 is in the main gentoo I will start this ebuild. I do not think the admins will let my ebuild in. Miro has been in the works for over a year:( I wish we the users had some say about the OS.
(In reply to comment #1) > Soon as kde4 is in the main gentoo I will start this ebuild. KDE4 is stable in Gentoo.
Yup go ahead and give us the ebuild ;P Miro is already on portage so no blocker for this one :]
(In reply to comment #3) The Miro ebuild in protage sucks! The developer is less skilled than most of us. He took a working ebuild and broke it. I will NOT post any more ebuilds here I am calling for a fork or third party site to get working ebuilds when developers break things. We did all that work for nothing. > Yup go ahead and give us the ebuild ;P > Miro is already on portage so no blocker for this one :] >

This kind of attitude won't get you much support from developers. If you don't want to contribute to Gentoo, don't. If you want, you'll have to learn to work with Gentoo developers. If you ever have an issue with one particular developer, try to work with others and or ask the User Relations (userrel at gentoo dot org) to help you.
wayne: Please change your attitude, this is not a teenager's forum here but a bugzilla. in other words, this is a place where you can share experiences/feedbacks with developers (and work or not with them). If the ebuild is not enough good for you, well, fix it yourself... So please in order to respect people, be correct, or I CC userrel team. Jorge: +1
KatchTV is still a KDE3-only application. No KDE4 version in sight so far. Therefore I suggest resolving this bug as WONTFIX.
plz reopen if there is a kde4 version available
