Description Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-27 15:42:30 UTC
=net-wireless/rt2x00-2.0.0_beta3 has been broken and masked for over a year; -9999 is useless since upstream switched to git ages ago. Plus, included in 2.6.24 kernels.

rt2x00 cvs has been officially deprecated since yesterday.
This means that the compilation has been intentionally broken (unless you know the magic config option).

Furthermore this saturday (March 22) the rt2x00 related files will be removed from cvs.

For kernels < 2.6.24 people are encouraged to either upgrade their kernel or use the legacy drivers. For kernels >= 2.6.24 people are encouraged to use the in-kernel driver or if that is not yet working for them the legacy driver.

In pushing everyone towards using the in-kernel driver it would very helpful to indicate which CONFIG_ variable this corresponds to.

I see nothing obviously related to rt2x00 . Suggestions please ;)

The following rt2x00 config options are configurable:

CONFIG_RT2X00 (menuconfig)
CONFIG_RT2400PCI
CONFIG_RT2500PCI
CONFIG_RT61PCI
CONFIG_RT2500USB
CONFIG_RT73USB

CONFIG_RT2X00_DEBUG
CONFIG_RT2X00_LIB_DEBUGFS
