It takes ~5 minutes to start the firefox browser on the livecd, the bug isn't present when there are no restrictive firewall rights (e.g. blocked port 80), maybe at least wpad as the default proxy setting would lift this issue for some of us, and wouldn't block others without any wpad server (e.g. on a direct net, etc)
After setting the correct proxy setting firefox starts up instantly.
